The Association Irish Stage Technicians was formed in June 2005 as a representative group for those working in a technical or production capacity in the theatre, music and corporate entertainment worlds in Ireland. The primary objectives of the AIST are to promote and improve the welfare of its membership. Over the next few months the AIST intends to launch the following initiatives:

• - To standardise Health and Safety practice throughout the industry and seek representation on any statutory bodies with responsibility for the implementation of same.

• - Organising training courses.

• - Setting up of an extensive web- based resource for members.

• - The launching of the AIST Stage Pass which will provide proof of competency in Health and Safety on stage.

• - Recommending minimum standards with regard to remuneration and conditions of employment.

• - The negotiation of preferable collective purchasing agreements (for example, Public Liability Insurance for freelance technicians).

Membership is open to anybody working in the entertainment industry in the island of Ireland.

Subscription for 2007/8 will be 20 Euro Full and 10 Euro Student. This is a minimum if you want to pay more to support the A.I.S.T please do.
